It’s never fun drawing a particularly “negative” card, especially when you can feel the other cringe. The beauty of Tarot, however, is that we can treat this as a warning and find ways around it. Don’t view this card as a bad day. View the Eight of Arrows as an obstacle to overcome today! After all, his lantern remains lit, symbolising the glint of hope for the challenge to come.

It really is no surprise this card was drawn today. Most of us are going back to work or school after a long holiday weekend– just that thought alone is a struggle, let alone the actual activity happening! Take this day to allow your positive energy to break through the negative. Easier said than done, but really dig deep to find the motivation for today. Overcome the struggle. It might be as easy as an extra cup of coffee! Or bring an extra sweet to work or school with you today. Anything that simply overjoys you! If able, find a time to be alone and just take a few deep breaths. Allow yourself to find solitude, stillness and relaxation some time during the day. If you’re more of an extrovert, don’t be afraid to turn to others for your motivation. Crack a few extra jokes with coworkers and allow them to feel your newfound positive energy as well. Show others that it isn’t so bad out there!

Until next time!

Unboxing The Wildwood Tarot by Mark Ryan

Thank goodness for the Amazon Black Friday sale! I’ve been eyeing this deck for a long time and I couldn’t pass up this perfect opportunity. I’ve been hesitant about this deck in the past because it looked a bit advanced to me and I’ll touch up on that below!

First Impressions

I jumped for joy when I saw how large the box was. I absolutely love when Tarot decks include a guidebook but I’m usually sad when I see the book is the size of my palm. This is a full size, glossy paged book filled with illustrations and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve poked around the book a little and thankfully it goes very in depth with each card. As I said above this deck is a little advanced. It doesn’t use traditional Tarot card names and the court cards are all animals instead of people. If you don’t know the symbolism of the Eel or the Stoat, then prepare to do a little research with this deck. Thankfully the book is amazing for that.

There are a few things about this deck so far that I’m not fond of: the box and the card stock. I dislike how the box splits the deck in two. It’s atheistically pleasing, but it bugs me and makes getting the cards out extra annoying. The card stock is a huge let down. They are just like regular playing cards that you can find in a corner store. They are thin, papery and they just don’t feel finished. Not to mention my cards came slightly bent in the box, bummer! Definitely keep in mind if you use this deck often, you’ll most likely need to replace it after a few years.

However overall, after sitting on the couch for over an hour now just getting to know the cards, I’m happy with them! They really are gorgeous and the shamanistic theme to them really appeals to me. I’ll be taking extra care of them and while I know I have a lot to learn with this deck, I simply can’t wait to try a few spreads out with them!

What do you think about the Wildwood Tarot? Do you have this deck? How does it read for you?

Until next time!

Yesterday brought us the Queen of Fire– a card of power, passion, drive and skill. And today brings us The Emperor— a card of focus, leadership, structure and stability. This is when Tarot amazes me. We transition between a day of creativity to a day of organization. We are borrowing some powerful energy this weekend! Don’t skip out on the opportunity to really do something meaningful, such as organize, stratagize and plan your goals for the week ahead. Now is certainly the time!

The Emperor is telling us that this Sunday will prove to be a key point this week. Most of us had a long weekend away from work and school and we need to come back to the daily grind. Take this day to find your strength and really start to focus in on the week ahead. Treat it as a wake up call that you need to get back into the routine. And share this wake up call; be the motivation of your coworkers and don’t be afraid of leading this week. It will be hard to get back into the groove but focus in, discipline yourself and set the foundation for a new week ahead.

Until next time!

The Three of Earth is all about work, skill, goals, completion and satisfaction. It is the path of hard work from beginning to end. And while our hard work during this holiday week is behind us now, we need to give recognition where recognition is due. Take an extra moment to appreciate those who brought things into fruition– even if that includes you! Take pride in what you brought to this holiday! Whether it was a delicious meal, a good conversation or if you had the chance to lend someone an ear, your efforts weren’t forgotten.

This card also reminds us to share your creativity and ideas with friends and families while you have the time before returning to the mundane. Help clean up, but find a fun and engaging way to do it! Or find one last way to bring everyone together in good conversation and laughter. Treasure the time together and have fun!

Until next time & rest well!

I hope this card made everyone else smile as it did for me when I drew it this morning! Spring Equinox – Rebirth is reminding us to refresh parts of our lives that may have faded away. Spring is a time when flowers and trees perk up, regrow, and flourish again. Take this holiday to renew relationships with family you may not have connected with in a long while. Find new opportunities to regrow a bright, positive foundation and break out of any day to day stresses and share smiles and laughter.

Spring Equinox – Rebirth also points to plenty of new opportunities ahead. Whether it be in the work place, in school or at home, strive to find new projects you can dig yourself into, or new hobbies that have piqued your interest. This card isn’t complete without the rabbit– an iconic sign of good luck, so don’t be afraid to take a few risks and find what makes you feel like you’re a new you again!

Have a great Thanksgiving & until next time!

As we get closer and closer to the hectic holiday time, this card is reminding us to stay grounded. Take a deep breath, relax and be in control of yourself and your actions. You may find yourself completely scatter brained on this day before Thanksgiving and that is so understandable! But make sure you find a nice quiet time during the day to gather your thoughts, plan in your head what needs to be done, and find that sense of grounding yourself. Keep yourself stable.

Tree – Grounding suggests finding that place outside. You know how the holidays go: your house is suddenly invaded by people you haven’t seen in forever and it’s stressful! So don’t be afraid to take a short walk outside. Go out and take a breather. You deserve that after all the hard work that gets put into this holiday!

Have a great holiday!

For this I’m using my new Angel Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue. After unboxing this deck I couldn’t help but pull a card to get me started today!

So who else smiled when they saw I pulled The World? Thank goodness, right? I’m sure most of us are in the midst of the stress of Thanksgiving. We are sitting around asking ourselves, who is coming over? Who is bringing what? What do I need to cook? How many do I need to cook for? These crucial days leading up to Thanksgiving are rough and it can completely stress our energies out.

This card is telling us to calm down, relax, take a deep breath and smile. Things are going great for us! We are on the right path and we are handling it. Take this day to really look forward to the upcoming holiday. Find that excitement and contentment and allow that to motivate us throughout our day. This card is a great reminder that we are doing okay. Wonderful, even!

Unboxing Angel Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue

I’ve seen this deck used in videos from time to time but never really thought anything of it. I didn’t know what it was really; was it an Oracle deck? Tarot deck? It sure said Tarot Cards on the box but they look and read like Oracle cards! Then I saw it was in the Top 10 most popular Tarot Decks on Amazon and it made me dig a little deeper. It made me feel like I was missing out on something and now I’m glad I followed that instinct!

First Impressions

While I can’t provide a proper review yet since I just received and unboxed the cards today, there are a few first impressions that I want to point out. Firstly, those gilded edges! I tried to snap a photo of the intense shine on the card boarders since I just love it! However, be prepared to be completely covered in glitter. It will be on your clothes, in the palms of your hands, on the table, everywhere. I’m sure it won’t be a problem after a couple of readings, but be prepared for that glossy glow!

Now that you have a new shine to your look, also be prepared for achy hands. This deck is HUGE. It’s the same size as Oracle cards (wider than standard Tarot cards) however instead of around 40ish cards, they are a 78 card full size standard Tarot deck. I’m having a challenging time shuffling these because of small hands, so I may have to figure out a different technique for these. On a similar topic, most of the cards came stuck together. So I had to make sure and go through each card individually to make sure they weren’t stuck to the back of the previous card.

Other than those concerns, I’m really loving it. The card stock is great, the artwork paints a magical story and the accompanied definitions on the bottom of the cards just seem to make me smile as I flip through them. I haven’t done any readings with the deck yet so I can’t report on how well it reads, but I honestly can’t wait to dig in!

Do you have this deck? What do you think of it? How well does it read for you?

Until next time!
