Unboxing Nature’s Whispers Oracle Cards

Is it weird to buy a deck simply because the backs were so well done? That’s essentially what I did here and I have no shame! I did of course look at what some of the cards had to offer before purchasing but I’ve heard so many great things I didn’t hesitate at all.

The box has a wonderful matte finish to it. Very soft and it feels so great to handle. Not to mention how lovely the box looks. I’ve been keeping it out on one of my altars since I got it and it really does usher in spring to me. 🙂 I enjoy that the cards fit snug in the box and I can be confident that they will be protected if I take this deck on the go with me.

I really wish the guide book was larger, ugh! It’s pretty slim, only 67 pages, but I love how positive the book is. It supplies you with some sample spreads, offers some help as to clearing your deck (I always appreciate this!) and then goes on to explain the meaning of each card. The guidebook offers advice with each card instead of simply telling you ‘this card means this’ which I really love. I really enjoy decks that have faith in you!

Those *backs*! I had seen pictures of this card back all over the internet and I was so happy to find they look just as amazing in person. The card stock is to die for. They are matte, velvety and soft. It shuffles amazingly well, doesn’t clump and there is just such a satisfying sound when shuffling. Swoon!

I will admit that the artwork is really busy. Much like the Shadowscapes Tarot, there is a lot to look at and a lot to take in. The first couple of pulls from this deck I found myself getting lost in the artwork and all the different meanings that my head felt a bit jumbled. But I can’t deny how gorgeous the artwork is. It’s printed so clearly and the colors are so beautiful that it draws out so many feelings and emotions with each card.

For me this deck has been working great as a daily draw type of deck or a great oracle supplement to a full Tarot reading. There is a lot to dive into each card that I find entire spreads with this deck incredibly distracting. I’ll definitely need to work with this deck more and get comfortable with it before laying down entire spreads, but I’m super excited about the idea!

Overall I’m incredibly happy with this purchase! I’ve been using this as a daily draw for about a week now and I find myself so excited to get this deck out each time. It really is an uplifting deck that impresses me with each card. 🙂 I’ll certainly be doing lots of journal work with this one!

What do you guys think of the Nature’s Whisper Oracle Cards? Do you have it? How does it read for you? I would love to hear! If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to post!

Until next time!

Changes, changes!

image

I’m one of those rare people that absolutely love change. I love development and watching evolution in not only my own life, but the life of others. It’s necessary, exciting and it’s fun! Breaking out of your comfort zone and finding what truly makes you happy is such an essential part of our lives– don’t be afraid of change!

About a month ago I was incredibly blessed to receive a job offer to become a full time professional Tarot reader in my local community. I couldn’t be happier. It’s simply everything I’ve wanted and have been studying for for years. However I noticed that it started to take a toll on my blogging. I was posting less unboxings, reviews and spreads and my daily draws started to become exhausting. I’ve been putting so much time and energy into my client readings that when I got to my daily reading here, I felt drained. It didn’t feel like I could fully immerse myself like I wanted to. I want to take this moment to say thank you to all that have followed me and my daily readings. Aside from guidance, my goal for daily readings were for me to use decks I wouldn’t normally use and explore new ideas each day. I feel as if it had done its job! 🙂

Instead of daily readings, I’ll now be moving into a weekly update schedule. This will include a lot more meaningful posts: new spread ideas, unboxings, reviews, studies and weekly readings.

If you are interested in still receiving a mini daily reading, I urge you to check out my Instagram (@velvetvines or link at the top). I recently started an account there and have been having so much fun. The Tarot community there is MASSIVE and it’s so exciting! It has worked out for me really well that I can flip a quick card and write a little bit about it all from my phone rather than sitting at my computer. There are also plenty of photos there of my work spaces, my own personal readings and more that I’m dying to share. I’ve been having a blast and hope some of you can follow me there!

So again, thank you all so much for this journey and sticking with me. I can’t wait to move into a different style of posting and really hope that it helps you along your path. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me! 🙂

Blessed be,
Celia

Ten crows swoop down to the grim lands below, talons latching onto cloth. With strong gusts from their wings, they take to the sky; a woman following in their path. She seems resurrected, as if these birds are taking her off to a better place or simply uplifting her soul. This is the Ten of Swords, a card of loss, betrayal, hurt and defeat. Yet there is something very beautiful about the hidden message this card. If you’re down and feel like you have nothing left, the only way out is up!

The Ten of Swords typically appears when we have suffered a loss of some sort. Perhaps a friend has betrayed us recently, we lost an opportunity at work that we have been trying so hard to get or maybe we have simply failed at completing a goal. Whatever it is for you, some of of are definitely hurting at this time. We need a savior, someone or something to take us away and life our spirits up. The Ten of Swords tells us that there is hope and it can happen if we allow it. In the card above, the woman is being carried away from her grim reality. The moon signifies that glimmer of hope that everything will be okay and her body fills with radiance as she is taken over the moon. That is us. That is where we can be if we put our minds to it. Don’t allow this rut to take you over. Do something about it. Do whatever makes you feel completely uplifted. Tell yourself that you can make it out of this and everything will be okay. Repeat those words until you feel yourself begin to smile. That’s when you have truly felt your savior.

Until next time!

A large orange cat holds his paw up to a bubble floating near him. He looks overwhelmed, confused and almost terrified. A few more bubbles begin to float by and before he knows it, he’s surrounded. He paws at one and it pops and disappears, but shortly after another bubble floats by. This is the Seven of Sea or the Seven of Cups as we commonly know it, a card of visions, day dreams, fantasy and goals. Have you been day dreaming a lot lately? Or maybe creating this fantasy life in your head that you would love to have? This card comes to us today to tell us to slow down just a little bit.

The Seven of Sea typically appears when we are a little scatterbrained with our plans. Perhaps we have been wanting to take on so many things at once or maybe we are just thinking too unrealistically. This card tells us to slow down and just go down one path at a time. If we begin to dream up of too many things we want, we find ourselves unable to obtain any of them. We find that if we dream of too many futures that none of them will happen. Only because we aren’t progressing any of these paths, we are simply day dreaming about them. The Seven of Sea tells us to take one dream for now and make it a reality– only one! Don’t overwhelm yourself and don’t live through this fantasy land in your head. Instead, embrace each goal by itself and take your time. You’ll get there if you set your mind to it and focus!

Good luck!

A deer leaps through the wheat fields, enjoying his freedom and ability to roam under the moon. The moon burns bright and red this particular evening, accompanied by shooting stars streaming across the sky. The deer admires the shooting stars as he leaps, attempting to keep up with them as quickly as he can. Today I pulled the Eight of Spirals or the Eight of Wands as we commonly know it, a card of action and progress coming to us quickly. This is the go card. The card that wants us to progress on our path and at a very rapid rate.

This is a very energetic card and you may find yourself feeling overly enthusiastic, driven and motivated today. Use that energy while you can! Enjoy the feeling of wanting to progress and wanting to move forward on your tasks and goals. There are so many times throughout the year that we struggle to find motivation. The Eight of Spirals tells us that you don’t have to worry about that today. If you’re getting close to completing a project or goal, use this energy to get you there. If you have been wanting to finally build something out of that idea that has been in the back of your mind, do it! If none of this applies to you, then dig deep and listen to your inner voice as you ask yourself, what have you been wanting to do recently? Find what inspires you and see what you can create! Maybe you have been wanting to visit a new place or maybe you have wanted to start a new hobby. This card is telling you to go out there, discover, explore and do it! Have fun!

Until next time!

A tattooed woman cups her hand around the fruit of the tree, examining it with a pleased smile on her face. She wonders whether or not it’s time to pick the fruit or allow it to ripen just a little bit longer. A tiny dragon perches itself on another piece of fruit further up the vine, staring down at the woman with a stern look in his eyes. He is symbolizing the danger of picking the crops too early. Today we pull the Seven of Pentacles, a card of vision, hard work and patience. We have started with a vision, done the hard work and now we must be patient. We must allow our goals to manifest and flourish.

The Seven of Pentacles is more or less a card of patience and it typically appears when there needs to be a time of waiting and resting. You may have finished almost everything that you can do with your work and now you must sit and wait for the outcome. For others, you may still be working towards your goal and this is a reminder of things to come if you remain patient and keep busy. The dragon in this card, however, represents the danger of not being patient. Think of the dragon as looming frustration. If you pick your fruit too early, you may not be completely fulfilled with your outcome and problems may begin to arise. For a lot of us, waiting to receive our paycheck after working hard (for example) is frustrating. We work hard to achieve our goals. However sometimes we have to wait for things that aren’t in our power. We simply have to wait to see our hard work coming together. This is where that tiny dragon comes into our lives and floats over us idly. However, the Seven of Pentacles is a sign of good things to come to those who wait. So keep your chin up, keep working and keep busy! This card is here to tell you that you’re on your way!

Happy Friday!

The fairies begin to line up apples along the floor as they find them, counting their harvest as they go. They gather leaves and acorns as well so they have enough resources for the path ahead. As they gather the apples, they cut some of them open to see the star within; representing air, fire, water, earth and spirit. This is the Ace of Autumn or the Ace of Pentacles. This card comes to us today to tell us to reap our harvest, gather our resources and go on a new adventure that can only mean growth and abundance for us. There is a lot of potential in this card so make sure you take advantage of it!

The Ace of Autumn typically appears when we have completed a goal and are on a new path. For a lot of us, this path will eventually lead to abundance and manifestation. This manifestation could be something we have been gathering for a while and we can finally see it begin to unfold. Take a few moments today and ask yourself, what have you wanted to see come into fruition? It could be anything– perhaps something in your career, or maybe you wanted to take on a new hobby that could later turn into financial gain. Maybe you have had this dream and idea of starting a new path such as opening a shop online. Allow yourself to feel inspired today and begin to form goals out of your ideas. The Ace of Autumn is a card that is here to push us and tell us that yes, we are ready to take on a venture like this. Really have fun with it and listen to your inner voice as you begin to decide your next path. 🙂

Good luck!

A proud looking tabby cat sits at the fireside under the night sky. Several cats come to him throughout the night with offerings of fish, bells and ribbons. His inventory of goodies begins to grow as he sets them all to the side and protects them. This is the Six of Fire, or the Six of Wands as we commonly know it as, a card of victory and feeling as if you have accomplished something. Take some time today to boast about something you have been successful with recently. This card comes with the feeling of being the king of the hill and you’re the one at the top!

The Six of Fire typically comes up when we are headed towards or are experiencing a successful time in our lives. If you aren’t there quite yet, then make some strides on any projects you have been trying to complete because this card lets us know that you’re close to completion. For others, think about a time recently when you felt like you were on the top and you had others looking at you in envy. Particularly a time recently when you had to really fight for something and you came out victorious. This is what the Six of Fire is about. Revel in it and take in that sense of pride! Don’t be afraid to let others know around you what you have accomplished lately! One of the greater aspects of the Six of Fire is the after effect. You’re now coming out of your accomplishment feeling strong, filled with energy and enthusiasm. You may feel like a new person today, ready to tackle your next challenge. Use this energy to continue your efforts on your path and see what else you can accomplish. 🙂

Happy Wednesday!

A mother and son in tattered robes look down the golden path at a large group of people. They are cheering, celebrating and enjoying the company of others. They feast together and share their stories in big smiles and laughter. The little boy looks up to his mom and points ahead, excited to join them but the mother holds her son back. She feels as if she isn’t meant to be among the more fortunate. This is the Five of Autumn or the Five of Pentacles as we commonly know it as. It’s a card of poverty, misfortune and insecurity. We often shudder and shy away when this card comes up, but the important thing is to keep your chin up and listen to its message.

The Five of Autumn typically appears during a time of suffering. This can be for many different reasons, from feeling lost and abandoned all the way to financial loss. Whatever your current situation is for this card coming up today, make sure you check in with yourself for a little bit today. Ask yourself if anything is bothering you or check in and see if there been any changes recently. If there are conflicts within your finances, it’s very important to take a little bit of time today to look over your bills and accounts. Make sure you’re in a secure place emotionally and take some time to plan ahead. Try to avoid greed and anxiety over material possessions and finances. I know easier said than done, but if these emotions start to creep up on you it could damage all aspects of your life: your home life, your relationships and your work place. Try to remain as confident in yourself as possible and find the inner strength to pull through whatever you’re tackling. 🙂

Until next time!

The Tree of Life stands tall in the bright skies, branches reaching up into the sky. A network of roots twist and turn through the trunk, ultimately digging deep into the earth. Upon its bare limbs gemstones have been hung. We are invited to take what we need and give something back. This is the Six of Stones, or the Six of Pentacles as we commonly know it, a card of giving, receiving but also giving back– all within balance and harmony. This card is here to remind us to keep our funds and growth flowing comfortably, enough to the point where we can use it to help out those around us safely.

The Six of Stones typically appears when someone has been helping us with something or when someone needs our help with something. In most cases this is a time when we are feeling generous and when we would like to help out someone close to us. Keep alert on the social cues of the people around you and especially those that are near and dear to your heart. We may be being called to help them at this current time and it’s worth checking in to see if you can make an impact on their life in any way possible. It’s important to note with the Six of Stones that while this typically is about money, it doesn’t necessarily have to be. See this card as helping someone out because you want to, not because you want or expect something in return. If you are helping someone financially, remember to be in a mentally comfortable place. Make sure that you have the means to do so and that you can still keep your life in balance. Today you have the power to make someone’s day. 🙂

Good luck!
